Oooh, drowning out work cocksuckers with my fave piece of music ever. It's a live version of 'A Forest' by The Cure that has, by far, the best guitar playing of all time on it. An extra seven mins of Robert Smith just killing it. I fucking love The Cure. Albeit not after 1992 as they went shitter than piss.

I'm, quite literally, listening to the new Dream Theater CD "A Dramatic Turn Of Events" on loop. And by "on loop", I mean that I start it when I start working, and I stop it when I shut down the PC or leave my office. So far, I've listened to it around ten or twelve times a day. Some awesome vocal hooks in there, and Mike Mangini is a hundred times better with Dream Theater than he was with Mullmuzzler... which is saying something, as I loved his drumming on their albums.

Mike Portnoy is, sadly, not missed.

Dream Theater are like my 5th favourite band, but I haven't heard the last two albums... may have heard the one before last actually, but if I did it was only once.

I haven't bothered trying to get the new one as I just love MP, he's my fave drummer. Saw him live 2 years ago when he toured with Avenged Sevenfold, was absolutely incredible.

At the moment, not listening to anything new at all, just put my iPod on shuffle and that's about it. I haven't updated it in about 3 years, I really should!

I'd say they were probably my joint favourite band along with Barenaked Ladies, and Portnoy has long been my favourite drummer. I'm just a sucker for great drummers though, and Mike Mangini made Portnoy's stuff look so damned basic when I saw DT playing the other night. I'll never be as good as either of them, but I've come to terms with that fact over the last couple of years.
