LOTRO Free-To-Play

Good news for Lord of the Rings fans as Warner Bros Interactive announced today that Lord of the Rings Online is to adopt a global ‘free to play’ model from this autumn, with a raft of features previously only found in subscription based online games.

The main game is free to download and play but players will, natch, be able to purchase expansions, quest packs and items to enhance their game, as well as the chance to sign up to a VIP program to snag unlimited access to all the game’s content.
