Just managed to blag my results back from last term (Not supposed to have them until tomorrow, but I didn't get any marked work back last year AT ALL, so I deserve them).

Got 3 very good 1sts, with lecturers telling me I am "writing PhD level" ideas and "using engaged (and engaging)" styles etc.

Very proud. Just felt like sharing.

Does that mean good stuff then? Remember, you're looking at (the avatar of) perhaps the most under-educated person on the forum so it's all just Greek to me. The pride thing and "yay" gives it away though, so I'll join Jo in saying "congrats!!" and hope that one day someone will explain 1sts and all that shit to me.

1sts are like A* 2:1 are the equivalent of around a low A/B, 2:2 are like a C, and 3rd a D. Sort of. Maybe? Either way, firsts are fucking fantastic. I only ever got one, and that was in my first year so it didn't even count! It's a very big thing.

2 - some folk were better
3 - bit of a mong
4 - mong
5 - bit between the toes of a mong
6 - not even sure this grade existed... but if it did... Whitney Houston would have struggled for it.
