    Default Day 27: Multiplayer Madness

It's Day 27! Most of the GL writers are up in the mystical land of Scotdonia and shall be tucking in to some multiplayer action over a long weekend. We were wondering what your favourite multiplayer game of all time is.

Maybe we will play it this weekend.
Do or do not. There is no try.

It's not pvp so some people will despise me for being the first response, but I rarely tire of horde mode in the Gears of War series. No other horde clone has come close to the enjoyment I've had with mates on that. Mass Effect 3 had a good stab, but I still find it as dull as shit after a short while.

Otherwise it'd have to be Borderlands and Freelancer.

Burnout Paradise is brilliant, and one of the first online mp games I ever played on my 360
HALO Reach is pretty fun too as was NFS:HP... pretty much anything we ever played on game night was cool really!

Red Dead Redemption was much more fun in mp

I want to play all of them now

Tricky, I loved Counterstrike in its pre-buyout days and played an obscene amount of it, also Team Fortress 2 both on launch and then again about a year ago for no particular reason. More recently I've been playing an awful lot of Dota 2, which is great fun and I've also been playing far to much Civ 5 multiplayer with my girlfriend.

Best overall though? I think it has to be Goldeneye on the N64, I lost count of the amount of time I spent playing that with my friends when it came out - and I'm normally the first person to say that FPS games on consoles are shit, but Goldeneye worked pretty damn well.

Borderlands is great on multiplayer too... co-op fun instead of destroying each other! Well, unless I was driving

When people say multiplayer I immediately think PVP, never really think of co-op. I prefer to consider them very separately.

Played a lot of decent PVP games I guess... Gears 3 has got a lot of hours this generation, but I'd have to go with one of the Socom games. There isn't a more skilful 3rd-person console shooter out there. Was so addictive. I'll go with Socom 2, since it's the one I played most.

    Orgy.
Oooooooh it's an invisible signature... oooooooooh!!
"If you want me to 'act professional', I can tell you that I'm not interested. I'm sitting in my home office wearing a bathrobe. The same way I'm not going to start wearing ties, I'm *also* not going to buy into the fake politeness, the lying, the office politics and backstabbing, the passive aggressiveness, and the buzzwords. Because THAT is what 'acting professionally' results in: people resort to all kinds of really nasty things because they are forced to act out their normal urges in unnatural ways."

I loved Borderlands co-op. But haven't played it since Mark and Pete helped me take out the big fucking ant thingy!
Recently started playing Halo again. Forgot how much I loved that. We really need to get some gaming nights back on that.
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walkers co-op is great too. Taking out the mechs as a team just feels so awesome. Shame it got a crappy deathmatch mode too.

Obviously I play most of my time playing Battlefield 3. But historically, Fifa, COD UO, Mario Kart (N64).
