Hai guys!
Right, now that the dust has settled from E3 and the 30 Days of Gaming thread is slowly drawing to a close it's time for phase two of Operation Awesome: The return of the Gaming Nights.
Historically we used to have one night a week (usually a Wednesday), when we all got together to play games. This was met with fun, frivolity and the occasional curse being thrown at someone. However for the last few months we've not had any so it's time for them to return, albeit with some changes.
First and foremost the structure. We're going to make it a little more organised and give people much more notice so that we can ensure we get the maximum amount of people there. It's going to be bi-weekly rather than weekly games, giving people the opportunity to purchase the game if they don't have it, shift plans if they want to attend and give hopefully improve turnouts on the given dates.
The day won't always be the same either, unless people have a particular problem with a constantly changing week day. There will be plenty of notice and it won't be on a weekend.
Choosing games will be done through a carefully laid out strategy that me and Zero have been working on for weeks. (We'll play this game - points at massive piles of games). In all seriousness we understand that money is tight for everyone. So we're going to be sticking to popular titles or things on sale via Steam or the XBLA. Each time we play there will be details you need to know about the game, i.e if you need to pay to reactive it online, where you can get it right now for the cheapest price etc.
Format is going to stick to Xbox 360 and PC. In order to make this process MUCH easier, make sure you've got all your contact details updated on the forums! We need your Xbox and Steam details.
There isn't much else to say apart from that. A post on the first game date will go up in due course and we want to attract as many people as we can, in order to increase forum numbers so invite friends, family, cats and dogs along too.
Finally, if we do end up with more people then we can handle, the time between each week allows us to sort out groups of people so that everyone gets a game. No-one will be left out if they want to play.
Thoughts, suggestions etc below. If you have a game you specifically want to play one week then let me or Zero know also
Cheers chaps
