Yes that's a line from Men in Black, the greatest movie of all time.

A couple of weeks ago (or was it months) I wrote an article about how I loved Relic Entertainment and wanted its babies. Today I'd like to hear all about your favorite developer. Why do you love them so? What do they do better than all of the rest or what do you wish they would do to produce gaming perfection.

I like Project Soul, because reasons. Also Arc Systemworks, because pretty. So very pretty.

Seriously though, I'd probably say that Arc is way up there just because of how gorgeous their games are. That art style is way up my street

    Valve.
Even though they've tormented us about Half Life 3 for almost a decade, I still think they are gawds. Portal, Half Life, Team Fortress... Love em!

Introversion, because they're small, British and made Uplink, Darwinia & Defcon.

Also Peter Molyneux. Sure, his reach constantly exceeds his grasp but at least he's reaching, unlike most developers these days.

Even though I'm yet to properly play Half-Life (because I'm a massive wuss), it's potentially Valve, given Portal 1 and 2 and Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 are some of my favourite games, ever.

I love a lot of Ubisoft games but I can't really think of the individual studios within the group, so I'll just say I love them as a publisher.

I'll go with Insomniac. I loved Spyro and Ratchet & Clank. Can't wait for OverStrike!

Got to the same point twice in 2 different runs a few years apart. I just known Ravenholm is nearby and I can't play anything scary lol... it's more knowing something will be scary. I just don't like horror. The only horror films I've seen other than like 1960s shit like Psycho are the 28 Days/Weeks films.

    All oldies but goldies:
    - Origin Systems (Ultima & Wing Commander)
    - Mythos (XCOM & Laser Squad)
    - Sid Meir / Firaxis (Civilisation, Pirates!, colonisation and soon....XCOM!!! ZOMG)

Kudos to David Braben for Elite, but Braben's lack of effort on a true Elite sequel and terrible Wii/Kinect shovelware has pushed him down the pile to Tim Schaefers level (loved the early stuff, but Brutal Legend onwards was pure dross - actually I take that back, Costume Quest was okay and Stacking was an interesting idea, if a bit dull).

Recently developers come and go so quickly it's hard to get more than a couple of games before they are smashed up and absorbed into other new startups.

However I agree with ZeroMark, Relic have been pretty solid in terms of latest gen and Epic Games for me personally too - horde mode, the most mulitplayer I've ever done and that is one hell of an achievement by a developer.

Valve. They don't make my favourite games; that would undoubtedly be Bethesda (Fallout 3, Elder Scrolls whatevers, New Vegas to a point and probably Dish On Her Head when it comes out) but Valve are by far my favourite developers because of the way they think. Hands down, no question. They don't like being interviewed though, it's fair to say. To me, they're the epitome of gamers-turned-devs.

    We're going to get on.

For me, probably Atlus. Purely because they have the best writers in the industry (or did) and are the fine folks behind the Shin Megami Tensei franchise.

    EDIT: Or Gamefreak, duh.
