For some reason, I get almost instantly bored of TD games. I bought Star Defence for the iPhone, and became instantly bored and never tried it again. I've never tried Plants vs Zombies. I think I may be inherently incompatible with TD games.

XBLA is all about Perfect Dark fo' me at the moment. I need to finish Shadow Complex soon too. And where the bloody hell is Toejam and Earl?

Geometry Wars 2 is still 400MSP for the next couple of days. It's the perfect XBLA game and as addictive as twiglets coated in cocaine.

I've just lost hours to the fucking thing.

I'm looking forward to Monkey Island 2 and Hydrophobia. Sis is after the new YuGiOh game...other than that, it would have to be pretty special to make me splash out hard ebayed cash on anything.

    Aye Hydrophobia looks pretty immense.

As does Hydrothunder (one of the best coin-op conversions on the Dreamcast).

Thrashed through a couple of playthroughs on Final Fight. It's a straight port of the arcade (even has the bios screen). The online co-op is smooth though and it has a choice of views (widescreen, not widescreen, cabinet view) and some horrible filters (smooth, crisp, scanlines).

Plays as good as ever though. For my money, it's a lot better than Streets of Rage 2 (its closest equivalent on XBLA).

Achvs seem a tad glitchy though.

It comes with Magic Sword which is a straight-up horizontal sword em up. I've always ignored it previously as it looks a bit gash but actually it plays okay.

800M$P for two MAME roms with decent co-op and new soundtracks? Is just about right I'd say. You won't be playing either in a week from now though but good to keep handy for pick up and play larks.

I always preferred Streets of Rage to Final Fight, and Golden Axe to Magic Sword. Probably going to take a miss on those.

Hydrophobia sounded great, but then they went and ruined it, by making it episodic and XBLA. I won't be buying any of the episodes until they're all out, because I got burned buying the first two Penny Arcade Adventures, only to find out that the third and fourth parts had been cancelled. WHY? WHY PENNY ARCADE, YOU FUCKS? THOSE GAMES ARE AWESOME. FUCKS!

*Ahem*. Yes. Not a fan of episodic gaming. Even got the new Sam and Max games when they released the season collection editions instead of individually.

SoR2 annoys me. It feels great to play but it's too long and they recycle bosses too much. Final Fight is a good length but is very coin-hungry.

Golden Axe is deffo better than Magic Sword though. MS is an odd choice.

I'd be up for some other Capcom doubles though. Sidearms plz.

Oh man... I'm suddenly jonesing to play Sidearms again... my PC is dying but I've got a CPS1 emulator on my PSP (wherever the hell that is).

Crazy Taxi is ace. A bit shortlived but ace all the same. Hope they update the soundtrack (ie - leave Offspring off of it).

Today's offerings are Metal Slug XX for 1200 pts (not really worth it) and Aqua for 800. Aqua is a twin-stick boat shooter and it plays pretty nicely. I'll probably shell out for it tomorrow.
