    Default XBLA thread-me-do.

I can't live, if living is without an XBLA thread.

Apparently this week's offering, Scrap Metal, is an overhead racer with guns, like Badlands maybe?

Last week's game, Toy Soldiers, looks like a very nice Tower Defense thing where you get to interact with the towers. 1200 points though. Eesh.... the price is wrong there.

Anyway, Omega Five, Geo Wars 2 and Gripshift are my faves. What are youse lot into?

I have far too many XBLA games. They don't require leaving the house or waiting up for the postman or any kind of effort whatsoever, and they seem cheap, thanks to the fuzzy conversion rate into Microsoft's moon money. I've recently had to cut them out, when I realised just how much money I have spent on the things. Which isn't to say that I'll buy anything, I still have standards, but some of the XBLA titles are surprisingly good, or at least well produced.

Particular highlight games, for me, are probably Defense Grid: The Awakening, Castle Crashers, and Puzzle Quest (the first one).

Defense Grid was great. One of the few TD games that actually has some strategy.

I own PQ but think I'd like it a lot more on the DS. I do need to get back into it though.

Castle Crashers left me cold. It looked cute but the gameplay left me a bit cold. Again, I do need to revisit it though.

Well, I used to play Golden Axe on the Megadrive, so I just got what Castle Crashers was about immediately. Without that memory association of controlling an angry axe-wielding dwarf for most of my childhood years, it might not have had the same impact.

I think the price tag maybe affected my view. 1200MSP for that or 400MSP for Golden Axe or Double Dragon.

My biggest insta-regret purchase was Minesweeper Flags. Even at 400MSP I instantly felt like an idiot for buying it.

I was tempted to get that Toy Soldiers game, but like you said 1200 is about 19 quid or something and im not willing to pay that for an XBLA game. Not after the BF1943 affair.....everyone in RU is getting it to play, one game, not played it since...awesome.
Do or do not. There is no try.

I've had my money's worth out of Trials HD. Awesome fun, until the Extreme levels and then it's just evil.

I bought Castle Crashers and Shadow Complex when they went down to 800 Microsoft points.
