I wonder if I should should get a new PC or just upgrade the one I have. It's a shame that I can't see Skyrim and TOR in it's full glory.
I keep looking at the Assassins Systems onesBut I need to have a tinker with it all and see what's good and what's not. Everyone seems to be banging on about the i7 core but is there much difference between that and an i5? If I'm future proofing as much as possible I suppose I want the i7 really!
What Ed did was to just pick a base system and I made some recommendations - best way to go really. In an ideal world, the site would just have set "off the shelf" systems but no PC gamer really wants that, so I had to spend a fucktonne of time creating all those fucking options. The i7 is just the fastest processor available but it doesn't mean that you're future-proofing... you're just faster right now. My gaming rig upstairs has an i5 in it but my laptop has an i7 and I much prefer the speed BUT I can't really compare how it performs in gaming because I haven't played the same game on both.
My advice... go with an i7 if you can afford it but if you can't then an i5 will be fine as long as you get a decent video card as that'll be doing most of the work anyway.

Righto. I'm probably going to hold off anyway as I'm not getting the money till January so things may have totally changed by then in terms of what's avliable and what's not. But thanks dude, I'll be tapping you up for info at some point![]()
