    Default Tablet suggestion?

So I'm thinking about buying a tablet PC but I don't want to spend too much on it. Preferably under £120 but I could go upto £150, I would go higher but nowhere has financial services as far as I can tell anyway.

The main thing I will be using the device for is reading ebooks, minimum web surfing and going on skype now and then. Ideally I would like it to be Android 2.3 but I would be happy with 2.2. I've done a search on amazon and ebay and found some but I'm not 100% about some of them which look a bit iffy. Either some of the tablets have cpu's I've never heard off and can't find any information about about or I can't find any information about the company itself.

Android market would be a bonus too, I've noticed some of the tablets don't include the official Android market. Sorry I'm asking for a lot just curious if anyone has any experience with some of these cheaper tablets and if their any good and could recommend any

Sorry dude, I know nothing about tablets. I don't see the point in them *cue angry Apple fanatics queuing to beat me to death with my own shoes*. They are too big to lug about all day without needing a bag/hand taken up, they are too wimpy to do anything decent with and most things you can do with them I can do with my smartphone. Like 'netbooks', they have no place in my world. It's a smartphone or a PC/good laptop, there is no middle ground for me.

Obviously commuters, rich folk or people that struggle to see Angry Birds on a phone screen have need for such things, but as I can't tablet and drive it's something I've ignored and shall continue to do so.

I agree which is why I don't want to spend that much on 1. I use my phone to do stuff out and about but I find the screen is too small to read text on otherwise I would just use my phone.

I would get a kindle but I don't like it that much and would rather pay a little bit extra to be able to do some more stuff. It's interesting as a couple of months ago I didn't like tablets but now I'm looking at buying 1.

If you haven't bought already, then worth a look.

The new Amazon Fire could be worth a look at when it launches

The amazon Kindle fire is probably the biggest let down I have ever seen.I thought it would be like all the other big brand tablets running Android but it's actually just a completely customized amazon product with no access to anything from Google such as the android market, google maps, Gtalk etc. Although it will be rooted soon after release I'm really disappointed that they have gone down the same root as Apple except their using a out dated version of Android to lock their Device as much as possible. It's kinda like all those sub £150 china OEM model tablets lol

I'm actually getting a Archos 80 G9 1GHz dual core, 512mb ram which works very well in the device, honeycomb 3.2. If their sold out then I'll just pop upto local PC World and get a Dell streak 7 and upgrade to honeycomb.
