I played a game on Playstation, the original, which I absolutely loved but I have no idea what it was called and it was a RTS. Old RTS games are much better then new ones.

That depends on what RTS games you've been playing. Total War: Shogun 2 is amazing, and Men of War Assault Squad is the best game I've played so far this year. Good games are out there, if you can be arsed to look for them.
On which note, Asda and Game are selling Shogun 2 for £15, in store :p
PartWelsh -Contemplating Saving the World
Started replaying Red Alert 2 on a whim.
S'alright.
You're better off playing it on a PC
Oooooooh it's an invisible signature... oooooooooh!!
Life's greatest battles, often are fought alone.
Red Alert 2 uses the IPX protocol for multiplayer, which isn't compatible with Windows 7. If you've got Windows XP you'll be alright, you'd just need to install IPX on your network adapter.
I have a work around for local network play (the game sends packets in IPX still, but they get intercepted and tunnelled across the network via a realtime TCP/IP relay... and if that makes no sense to anyone, tough) but both people need the same work-around installed and it's local only, so not much use to you. Does mean we could play a couple games at the BBQ though!
