Yep, after all this pointless fucking about with Duke Nukem Forever and the various terrible bits of B'lands, Gearbox have finally put out a teaser trailer for my most wanted game of all time, Aliens: Colonial Marines.

There was an EA game in development for the PS2 back in 2000/2001 with the same name, and it was shown at E3 2001. It was cancelled in 2002. The initial screenshots released looked wildly ambitious for the PS2.



If it had ever been released I suspect it would have run at 8 fps and any non vertical or horizontal line would have been wonderfully jaggy... I mean 'aliased'.

A four-player co-op shooter set ON THE MOTHERFUCKING SULACO.

When this was announced I literally cocooned myself silly over it. Then they halted it for Duke Nukem Whatever. Gearbox? GearCOCKS more like. Duke Nukem was never that good. It was alright in multiplayer at the time but it was all mazes and keycards like fucking Doom. Horrible. Fuck that shit. Give me four-player Aliens-ness.

But it's back and if it's good, you can call me Private Spunkmeyer.

Now, if you don't mind I've got some juicy colonists that I need to rescue from their virginity once I've finished my cornbread.

Yeah I remember being that excited about AVP. Look how that turned out. Hope its good, but until I hear back from a trusted GL source that it is the shit, I will not be getting excited.

I knew AvP would be a load of rubbery old bollocks. For my money it's a crossover that has never really worked. The two species do not belong in the same universe. This goes for the movies, books and comics. The Jaguar game was okay in that it was very average and therefore better than anything else on the system. The Capcom beat em up was fun as a beat em up but a stupid fucking way to convey the license.

The first PC game covered everything you need from an AvP game anyway. AvP2 was, despite popular opinion, not actually any good because it had nothing new to say.

Gearbox makes good games, Like Borderlands and Duke Nukem Forever, but i'm not greatly holding out for another alien infested coop game, there is too many of those on the market at the moment, and it's not exactly canon to the movies is it?

We'll just have to wait and see if it's going to be good but with the track record of gearbox being great on coop games so far, it may turn out to be a good coop game.
