The Completely Unofficial GL Forum Game of the Year 2010

The big games of the year are out now, and inspired by the Top 10 thread, I thought that perhaps we should have a forum game of the year thread.

First of all, I should stress this is the entirely unofficial forum game of the year - I expect the GL crew will be organising their own thing too. Winners will certainly get nothing more than a big sloppy kiss from me, and they'll have to come to me to collect it too.

I'm not making any shortlists, categories, or indeed rules on what you can nominate, or why. It is purely YOUR game of the year - any game on any format. This allows people to give a nod to games that either were released, or that they bought late last year but they've been playing mostly this year.

Some time in early January after everyone's had a chance to play with their Christmas presents I'll collate the votes and break out the top 10's by format etc.

TO VOTE:

• Write down YOUR TOP 10 games you have played this year, numbered 1-10.
• Please provide the game name AND format.
• Points will be scored from 1st to 10th on each list as follows: 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1
• If you can't do 10 games, give as many as you can, they'll still count as votes.
• If you want to put down more than once, for each format you've played it on, go ahead. If it's going to skew the results unfairly in any one area then I'll probably only take the highest vote.

It would be nice if you provided some notes on how you decided on your top 10. It might be by play time, artistic license... whatever.

RULES:

• Anyone can vote.
• You can vote for whatever you like.
• You may nominate the same game on different formats.
• Seriously... anything. I don't care if it was a flash game from 1999 (it's not going to win, but nice to acknowledge it was part of your gaming life of 2010).

As you can tell, it's been a gaming year dominated by the iPhone for me. I would've liked to add Dead Nation and Infinity Blade to the list, but they were too slow to launch. On-the-go gaming FTW!
