So, Eternal Darkness, was one of the best games of the Gamecube, and the lack of sequel has been, a great disappointment.

The crowd funding starts Monday, and I'll be very interested to see what sort of reception it gets. I'm not expecting it to break the bank, but I'll be surprised if it doesn't meet its target.

Did anyone ever play this? It was the spiritual successor to Total Annihilation, which I loved back in the day.

I brought it, but any single player missions, or hell, even skirmishes take hours and hours so I never really got into it.

Thinking about doing an reinstall, adding to the long list of RTS games to replay, (need to try Starcraft II one of these days), but wondered if anyone had it for multiplayer fun.

This is a real shot in the dark because details are really scarce here. Apologies for that. However, it's worth asking so that's what I'm doing now.

Does anybody know what game this might be...?

I was playing this game about 14-15 years ago which puts it somewhere in the years of 1998-1999.

The game was loaded by cartridge but I don't remember what it looked like. I don't remember what any parts of the console looked like, not the cartridge, the console, the joystick, nothing.

Once you booted up the game, the first challenge was to use the joystick on the controller and jam it side to side as fast as you could in order to fill up a bar that would then 'defeat an alien'. Once that was done, you could then go on and actually start the game.

I could never fill the bar and neither could my Dad so my time with the bastard game was incredibly short.

The screen was simple, there was a picture of an Alien in the top right screen, the vertical bar which you needed to 'fill' was underneath it and the rest of the screen was filled with a greyish texture which probably had some text on it with instructions and such.

That's it, that's all I have! Anyone have any ideas what the game might be?

Bunch of stuff on sale today. It's been going on all week but yesterday's sale got delayed and so today has a ton of good stuff.

I've picked up Civ Rev and Max Payne 3 for 4.49 each and Batman Arkham Asylum for under three quid (hate it but I'll give it another go).

Some beat em ups are up for a steal too. Check it out, yo.

EA microtransactions

Apparently the CEO of EA has said that all future games from EA will have micro transactions as "Consumers are enjoying and embracing that way of the business."

Now I think that's a bit of a silly thing to say. Although I can understand that businesses always look for a new way to bring in cash but then, to say that gamers are enjoying and embracing it? Hell no EA!

I am reluctantly accepting this like I did with online passes and day 1 DLC and all the other cash cow ideas.

And if the time comes when the whole "pay to win" situation plays out. Your games are unbalanced and 15 year old brats are on street corners trying to earn more cash from jimmy Saville's army of bastards, so they can purchase the noob gun 5000 on BF 7. I hope the �20 note you light your cigar with explodes in your face.
