Victoria II Demo Released

Arse kicking colonial strategy action

Paradox Interactive have released a tasty looking demo in the run up to the release of their historical strategy game, Victoria II.  The game, which is set in the colonial era of the 19th century, involves everything we know and love about this genre – namely, managing resources and an economy, taking over land, nicking other people’s stuff, trading, and beating up any neighbours foolish enough to have something that we want.

According to Paradox: “Players will guide their nation from an era of absolute monarchies in the early 19th century, through expansion and colonization in hopes of attaining great power at the dawn of the 20th century.”

Game features include a deep political simulation with eight different types of government, a detailed economy with over fifty different types of goods, an advanced technological system with hundreds of inventions to discover, and improved graphics and interface, not to mention the welcome inclusion of multiplayer support.

Victoria II will be steaming into shops on August 13th and the demo is available from Fileplanet here and more info can be found on their official site.
