Magicka Celebrates Birthday With New Expansion

They grow up so fast and before you know it they’re selling millions of copies and their friends are doing magical crack in your pool house while you’re on holiday in the Algarve.  Yes, Magicka is a sprightly one year old today, having sold 1.3 million copies to date, and with a stack of DLC downloaded.  Published by Paradox Interactive, the popular action adventure parody game, reviewed by GL just under a year ago, seems to have barely been off the radar, with numerous DLC releases trickling out to tantalise with their pretty looking wares, and its birthday is no exception.

Today brings not only cake, but the announcement of the latest Magicka expansion, The Other Side of the Coin, due for release later this Spring.  The upcoming expansion sees the wizards trading in their rainbow robes for over-exaggerated black capes and a new role as the bad guys, controlling a vampire named Alucart and his undead horde.  Nice work if you can get it.
