Interview with Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk – Founders of BioWare

On Friday afternoon, while at Eurogamer, I was presented with the chance to interview two of the gaming industry’s biggest names. Doctors Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, the founders of BioWare, were allowing only a handful of journalists to speak with them and, knowing that this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet the minds behind great titles such as Baldur’s Gate, Knights Of The Old Republic and Mass Effect, it was something I couldn’t pass on, and so I quickly accepted the invitation.  Despite an impressive repertoire of titles, however, we wouldn’t be focusing on the games – our attention would be on the formation of the company and how they moved from being medical doctors to heading one of the leading video game companies in the world.

After a busy morning at Earls Court, we were whisked away to a hotel in Soho for a few drinks before heading upstairs to sit down and chat where we discussed the first day of Bioware and how it differs from a typical day at Bioware today. We asked Greg to elaborate on his experience with some toilet seats in Fallout 3 and quizzed them on their choice of content in some of their more popular games, as well as what they love about their fans and the community as a whole.

The voices you’ll hear conducting the interview are Debbie Timmins from theaveragegamer.com, myself, and Richard Burley from newbreview.com, in that order.
