Deadwood Creator To Pen Heavy Rain Film

Yep, it was only a matter of time before the noire style PS3 exclusive, Heavy Rain trudged its way onto the big screen and now it seems that it is in some seasoned hands.  David Milch has been signed on, along with Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne to bring the game to the silver screen, under Unique Features, who have a ‘first look deal’ with Warner Bros.  The studio giant has fast tracked the film for production and the film, titled simply: ‘Rain’, will be written as soon as Milch comes off his current stint on HBO horse racing series, ‘Luck.

“David Milch’s incredible ability to transform intense and complex storylines into gripping, popular drama makes him the perfect partner for us to have on ‘Heavy Rain,’ “ Shaye said.

Given the heavy, dramatic, nature of the game, focusing on the lives of four characters over four days  as they become entwined with stopping a murderer known as the Origami Killer, we can imagine the Deadwood creator being a perfect fit for the project.
