Blizzard Ban 5,000 Cheats

Send the 'T' round to each and every one of their houses

And the banned-wagon rolls onward (sorry, had to be done), with Blizzard slapping down over 5,000 StarCraft II players for the shameful crime of cheating, or as Blizzard put it, ‘who were in violation of the Battle.net TOU for cheating and/or using hack programs while playing.’  They followed up with this explanation:

“In addition to undermining the spirit of fair competition that’s essential to play on Battle.net, cheating and hacking can lead to stability and performance issues with the service. Maintaining a stable, safe, and secure online-gaming experience for legitimate players is a top priority for us, and we’ll be continuing to keep watch on Battle.net and take action as needed.”

Between human nature being what it is, and the fact that some people just have an inability to play fair, expect more in the coming months…after all, the game is still in its infancy of release and there is always just one more exploit or loophole to be found.  Here at GLHQ, we’re inclined to think that Blizzard’s blog was too tame, so we imagined Mr T shouting it in the face of a crying teenage cheat.  It was a lot more satisfying.
