Telltale’s The Walking Dead Infects Over 8 Million

Point-and-click wunderkinds Telltale Games have recently celebrated sales of over eight million for their latest award-winning series The Walking Dead. Those sales aren’t necessarily for the season entire; those 8.5 million sales include those for individual episodes and season passes, format dependant. There’s no word as to what platform was the most dominant for the corpse-shambling franchise, but these sales bode well for the season season, which has been confirmed repeatedly since the massive success of the first two episodes.

Talking to energy drink super-giant Red Bull, Dan Conners of Telltale revealed that the adventure game aficionados are working on a way to allow your save files to cross over to the next series, though it’ll be a while before the adventure continues. “Right now we are just starting to form the concept for season two [...] but we are definitely figuring out how to carry the saves over.” It may be a while before we see more of Telltale’s take on the Kirkman universe; the company also picked up the rights to make a new Kings Quest and a series based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comics around the same time as The Walking Dead, and both are yet to manifest, with Fables reconfirmed back in October after numerous delays.
