As if the pending release of Borderlands 2 wasn’t enough to get our game juices flowing, 2K have just announced the release date for the Mechromancer class. 16th October is when we’ll get our hands on Gaige the Mechromancer, the girl with the seriously cool Tank Girl look who will be using her mech-controlling abilities to devastating effect in the fight against Handsome Jack. This new character class will be free to those who pre-ordered the game, but for everyone else, it will retail at $9.99 or 800 MSP.

Cool, finally a date (says Adrian Mole). It’s nice to see a price for all those who didn’t pre-order (they still deserve a slap though!). 800 msps is a nice price for a full character and I, for one, would hope that if it is easy to program then we could see more. I’d love to play though Borderlands 2 with at least 3 of the original characters or maybe Marcus or even Moxxi would be a laugh – imagine the perks will could use? – Marcus could have a Lilith type phase shift but you use a little money and grab all their equipement, Moxxi’s would simply be XXX!
