Amazon Launch Game Development Division
by GL News
Not content with getting in on everything ever as far as retail goes, Amazon are now plonking their feet up on gaming’s well worn table, with their recent announcement that they are launching a game division. Amazon Game Studios is promising many games, the first of which is a Facebook title called Living Classics – a hidden object game that references classic books such as Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz.
According to Gamasutra, it isn’t the first time they have dipped their toes into the world of game development, having acquired a casual developer, Reflexive, back in 2008, which produced a number of small, casual titles. Whether the big A will take things beyond the more casual shores of Facebook to consoles and proper PC releases remains to be seen. Give them a week.
