Limited Edition Portal 2 Turret Revealed
by GL News
If you’ve ever wanted your own deadly piece (aren’t they all – Ed.) of Aperture Science, then perhaps gamingheads.com have just the thing you are looking for. The merchandise site has teamed up with Valve to provide fans and collectors with a range of officially licensed high-quality merchandise based on Valve’s IP, and the line is kicking off with a sexy looking Portal 2 Sentry Turret, complete with sounds.
According to Gaming Heads, the turret shape was generated using Portal 2′s in-game 3D files and stands around 16 inches tall, which includes the base and antenna. It isn’t all about the looks, however, as there is a motion sensor at the front, which controls the light in the turret’s eye. Of course, it wouldn’t be the same without those deceptively meek little voices, and Gaming Heads haven’t disappointed, with an in-built sound module which plays numerous voice samples including: in-game Turret activation, search, auto search, disabled and tipped over.
It will be a highly limited collector’s item, since there are only 350 pieces being made available worldwide, so if you don’t want to end up paying through the nose on Ebay, then crack open that wallet.
