2K Marin’s XCOM Delayed Again
by GL News
Another day, another delay. While BioShock Infinite and Aliens: Colonial Marines have both now slipped to 2013, it seems that they are about to get more company, with XCOM now also sliding into next year. No, before you panic, we’re not talking about the good XCOM – X-COM: Enemy Unknown – previewed here, currently under development by Firaxis – but, rather, the 2K Marin title which disappointed GL so much at last year’s E3. The seemingly troubled shooter has a history of delays, and this latest one, announced today by Take-Two, sees it shoved into the company’s 2014 fiscal year (running from 1st April 2013 – 31 March 2014). So far, neither Take-Two or 2K Marin have come forward with any explanation, even of the puff variety, as to why, so it is anyone’s guess at this stage.
Still, fans of the original game, who weren’t convinced by the shift to shooter territory, need not fret, as the Firaxis game, X-COM: Enemy Unknown is on course for an Autumn release, dated 9th October 2012. Gird your plasma rifles.
