Borderlands 2 Full Preview

Last week we got our first look at Borderlands 2 which, quite frankly, was my immediate highlight of Gamescom.  Borderlands is a game which dropped unexpectedly on to my radar based on the art style alone and, while I openly admit to sidestepping the shooter genre where possible, it pulled me in immediately to the point where I knew that I had to set convention aside and at least give it a shot.  Only a few seconds after the first time that crimson 2K logo spun towards me, slammed to a halt, and I feasted my eyes upon the beauty that is Pandora…

Borderlands 2 Interview with Scott Kester

It will come as no surprise to anyone who has ever been in my presence for more than a few minutes that there’s no way I’d be happy to leave GamesCom without having talked to Gearbox about their recently-announced, long-awaited and undoubtedly drool-inducing title, Borderlands 2.  Unfortunately, and unsurprisingly, interview slots were snatched up quicker than Skagzilla with a midget psycho…

DOTA 2 Interview with Valves Erik Johnson

Lee talks to Erik Johnson from Valve, the Senior Project Manager on Defense of the Ancients 2 about building a sequel to a game that started off as a mod, e-sports, balancing out the heroes and the possibility of a DotA hat shop.  As well as that, we also have some Gamescom 2011 DotA 2 t-shirt double packs to give away, including the limited edition tournament shirt, a character shirt and DotA 2 lanyard…

Blizzard Press Presentation: World of Warcraft

It’s hard to imagine that less than a year on it since its release, Cataclysm is about to receive its last big content patch, thus signalling the downward spiral toward its untimely end before a new expansion raises from the Deathwing charred ashes and the cycle starts anew. With patch 4.3 comes the long awaited raid encounter with Deathwing, Cataclysm’s  major badass that happens to be hell-bent on turning the world into nothing but a pile of ash…

SWTOR Interview with Stephen Reid

Adam talks to Stephen Reid from Bioware, Community Manager for the Old Republic. With the Star Wars booth towering over hall six ominously and a rock and roll style crowd that goes absolutely wild for just the faintest of looks at the highly anticipated MMO it’s as clear as a Tatooine sun that the Old republic is on everyone’s minds. If that’s not enough to satisfy your Sith Lord style ways then we also have some rather excellent posters to give away…

Risen 2: Dark Waters Hands-on Preview & Interview

Back in June, we had a chance to get our first look at Risen 2: Dark Waters during our exhaustive coverage of E3.  It was quite an eye opener at the time as the graphics had been improved considerably from the first game and a little droplet of excitement once again oozed out as I feasted my eyes on the rolling vistas and treacherous coastlines.  That was, as mentioned above, only two months ago and yet so much has happened since then.

Joe Danger: The Movie Interview with Sean Murray

You may be forgiven for thinking that the halls of Gamescom 2011 are filled with nothing but city-block sized booths from the gaming world’s biggest players and, while there are indeed times that it does feel like that, it may not always be the case. Within the heart of Hall 8, surrounded by the likes of Batman: Arkham City, Nintendo, and Sega sits a rather humble booth; one that belongs to Guildford based indie developer Hello Games…

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Preview

There’s been a running joke that the shooter genre has become saturated with the various types of marines from space, so when Relic announced Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine it certainly caused a few smiles, for irony’s sake at least. Stepping into the E3 booth of THQ, who are publishing the title, I find myself dodging out of the way of two life size Space Marines and into an actual drop pod…
