Sony breaks. People talk about it.

We’re sure that many of you have been following the whole Sony saga ever since some inconsiderate bastard pillaged Sony and caused them to pull the plug on the entire PSN (during the launch of Portal 2 and Mortal Kombat – ouch).  So have we, in fact, it was the cause of much merriment over the weekend, as several of our writers were glued to an iPad, catching up and reading out amusing Twitter posts.  Bravo to the individual who Tweeted Major Nelson to ask why PSN was down, you made our day.  Our hearts go out to anyone who got Portal 2 for the PS3 and now can’t play either that or the free PC version.  That must be as heart breaking as seeing Chuck Norris’ beard being shaved off.

We started to dissect the crisis, form comment on the scallywags/dobbas/pricks/heroes responsible (delete as applicable to your leaning), but everyone else has covered it ad nauseum and it is hot today.  Very hot in fact, so we put the melting pot of news and Twitter updates out in the sun and boiled it down to the following:  Sony breaks.  People talk about it.  It is a trifle annoying.  Big surprises all round, eh?

Shame for all the sony users that went down but worse that they dont tell them anything

Quite right, Stephen. I think perhaps they didn’t want to panic people too soon until they knew whether user accounts and credit card details were compromised; if that is the case, Sony will be in a world of trouble with Visa and Mastercard… their fines can be hefty.
