Super Monkey Ball Rolls Out For 3DS

Fans of rolling simians will be pleased to hear that Super Monkey Ball will be trundling onto Nintendo’s spanking new 3DS next year.  Taking full advantage of the handheld’s motion sensor, you’ll be able to shake, rattle, and roll with some of the returning favourites such as AiAi, MeeMee, and more in familiar, pulse-fluttering fashion.

Super Monkey Ball will offer three gameplay modes, which include the usual single player levels, Monkey Fight, and Monkey Race.  Thanks to the 3DS wireless connection, up to four players can pit their banana gathering skills against one another in a multiplayer mash up.  Whether or not the game will be part of the handheld’s 2011 launch lineup remains to be seen, however, we’d put good money on it since it would appear to showcase some of the hardware’s new capabilities.
