Blacklight: Tango Down Dev Diary

Ignition Entertainment and Zombie Studios have taken customisation to an extreme in their upcoming downloadable game, Blacklight Tango Down.  Billed as a cross between Blade Runner and Call of Duty, Blacklight: Tango Down is a fast paced FPS action game set 25 years into the future, in which the player assumes command of an elite covert ops squad who are sent after the missing Blacklight team.

With customisation part of the intended appeal, Zombie Studios have taken elaborate steps to ensure that even the pickiest gamer should find a weapon to suit themselves, revealing that there will be six core weapon types, 25 attributes and additional ‘weapon charms’ which add perks and personality.  These options, which the studio boast have never been seen in a downloadable game before, make for a diverse range of weaponry which can be tailored to suit each individual play style and preference.  Nice.

Giving some welcome insight into the customisation, Ignition have released a dedicated developer diary in which Zombie Studios show off the system and spill the beans on how players will be able to make the most out of the myriad of combos on offer.  So if you want the scoop from the masters behind the machinery, take a look.

With four single player levels which can also be tackled in co-op mode (which supports up to four players), along with 12 multiplayer maps, and seven game types, it seems that there will be a lot to keep players busy this summer.  Blacklight: Tango Down will be blasting into the download charts this summer on PC, XBLA, and PSN…so come on…what does your weapon say about you?  ‘Watches ‘Loose Women’?’…  ‘N00b’…  ‘Barry Manilow raided my wardrobe’?’…well, that’s just the GL team.

This is XBLA!?? The only XBLA game I play at the moment, or I’ve found to be worth playing, is Trials HD… but this does NOT look like a typical XBLA game. wow.
